In case you find yourself with a locked AirCard881 without a PCMCIA card reader but are using a Proxicast.
You’ll first have to contact AT&T at 800-331-0530 and dial 0 repeatedly to talk to an operator who can provide you with the unlock code.
You can access the command interface of the AirCard by doing the following:
- in the Proxicast web GUI, remove the checkbox from "Always On" on the Wireless>Cellular page.
- log out of the web GUI.
- telnet or SSH to the LAN-Cell’s IP address.
the SSH login for a proxicast with a factory config is
ip: 192.168.1.1, user: anything, port:22, password: 1234
with a PBO config:
ip: 192.168.1.1, user: anything, port: 7722, password: "standard password"
- enter the web password
- Select menu option 33 - Cellular Card Command Mode
You will now be at a prompt that will let you enter AT commands directly into the modem.
If ATT send you the command sequence to unlock the modem, enter those commands. Type "exit" when you are done, then 99 to close the telnet session.
Go back to the Web GUI and re-enable the Always On setting.
This is the command sequence to do the unlocking:
- Type ATE1 and press Enter.
- An OK response returns.
- Type AT+CLCK="PN",0,"<8 digit unlock code>" and press Enter.
- An OK response returns.
