How to use a PBO Proxicast for internet access

To use the Proxicast modem for internet access:

  1. Set your computer to DHCP and plug into the LAN port.  You will be assigned an IP address of 192.168.1.11 or higher.

  2. The "Web Configurator" interface on the modem is accessed through a web browser at "http://192.168.1.1:7780," with the default password of "1234" which we will change to "XXXXXX", so if you’re not the first to turn one on, use the latter.

  3. You can then go to the "Logs" page and look at the "System Maintenance" log to see if you have gotten an external IP address and, if so, what it is.  Each modem will be configured with a named URL (e.g. test.exnet.pbo-data.net is in the lab, and slid.exnet.pbo-data.net is in the field as of 6/16) that will follow the machine as it changes its IP address.
