Trimble WinFlash - How to load new firmware onto the Trimble 4700 receiver

The attached executable contains Trimble WinFlash, a Windows-based utility to load new firmware onto select Trimble GPS receivers, including the 4700. Please note that some USB-to-serial adapters will not work with this program because they do not send a break.

Note: The comms cable must be connected to the Comm 2 port on the 4700 receiver.

To run WinFlash:

  1. At the device configuration screen, choose 4700 receiver.

  2. On the operations screen, choose GPS software upgrade.

  3. On the available software screen, if the current version of firmware is not listed, press the insert key and browse to the location of the new firmware.

  4. Follow the directions to completion.
