My downloaded NetRS files are corrupt.  Is there anything I can do to recover them?

There are several things you can try.

  1. You will need a Windows computer with the Trimble program “Data Transfer” installed (but you do not need to open the program). Right-click on the corrupt file and select “Convert to .dat.”  This may yield a usable file.

  2. Use the freely available tofrodos utility, which converts text files between MSDOS/Windows and Unix formats. Use the dos2unix command from a command line (e.g. DOS window):
    %   dos2unix [filename.T00] > [newfilename.T00]

Please let us know your results or if you have any other input, as we have had few cases of corrupt NetRS files to draw from.
