Firmware Status |
Information about the current Firmware Version, the Receiver Serial Number, and the current Firmware Warranty Date is displayed at the top of this page.
The software running in the NetRS receiver is known as the receiver firmware. The firmware in the receiver will occasionally need to be updated as new features and enhancements become available.
Firmware updates are packaged as Firmware Files in RPM (Redhat Package Manager) format. An update package could be a small patch to the existing firmware, or it could contain a complete installation of the entire firmware.
Uploaded Firmware Files Table
This page provides a table of the firmware files that are currently available for installation. The files listed in this table reside in the incoming directory on the NetRS. The first step in performing a firmware update is to transfer a firmware file to this directory. This can be done using the Firmware Upload page, or by using FTP;
Details button to
display information about the contents of the firmware file, together
with a short description of the new features.
Install button to
begin the installation process. The new firmware is not actually
installed until this action is complete. Once the firmware update
begins, the receiver should not be disturbed until the update process
is complete.
Delete button to remove
the firmware file from the incoming directory once the firmware has been
successfully installed. At this point the file is deleted from the
receiver file system.
