Configuration Files |
Configuration Files contain collections of NetRS control settings. They are based on the Linux configuration files that are used internally to configure the various functions in the NetRS. Configuration Files can be used to record the settings of these controls. At a later time, the Configuration File can be applied to the NetRS to set the controls back to a known state. It is also possible to transfer the controls from one NetRS system to another, to make one system a clone of the other.
The Configuration Files control page is available as a sub-menu under the main menu item Receiver Configuration. Through this page you can:
Apply button to
apply the settings in a Configuration File to the NetRS receiver.
Download button to download a
Configuration File to your local machine. The downloaded Configuration
File can then be uploaded and applied to other NetRS receivers.
button to delete that
Configuration File from the NetRS receiver. Removing a configuration
file from the receiver has no effect on the current receiver settings,
even if the file being deleted was used to configure the receiver.
Configuration Files can be used to apply a specific set of configuration settings to a network of receivers. This provides a convenient way to ensure that all receivers in the network are configured with the same settings without having to manually set all the individual controls. Note that if this is done, certain groups of controls should NOT be included as part of the configuration. For example, it is unlikely that the System Name (included with the Save Everything option) would be appropriate, since each NetRS is likely to need a separate System Name. Similarly, if static IP addresses are being used, copying the Network Setup information would result in the same static IP address on all units, which is likely to be a faulty setup.
